New from Tokyo Marui is the U.S.M.C. (United States Marine Corps) M40A5 Bolt Action Spring Sniper Rifle.

The M40 series used by the US Marine Corps is based off the Remington M700 Sniper Rifle. Among them, the M40A5 is equipped with a thermal vision mount to greatly enhance nighttime shooting ability.

From Wikipedia:

The M40 rifle is a bolt-action sniper rifle used by the United States Marine Corps. It has had four variants—the M40M40A1M40A3, and M40A5. The M40 was introduced in 1966. The changeover to the A1 model was completed in the 1970s, the A3 in the 2000s, and the A5 in 2009.

Each M40 is built from a Remington 700 bolt-action rifle, and is modified by USMC armorers at Marine Corps Base Quantico, using components from a number of suppliers. New M40A5s are being built, and A1s are upgraded to A3s and A5s as they rotate into the armory for service and repair. The rifles have had many sub-variations in telescopic sights, and smaller user modifications. The M40A5 incorporates a detachable magazine and a threaded barrel to allow for the use of a sound suppressor or other muzzle device.

The original M40 was a military type-classified version of the Remington 700; it was factory-made, and had a one-piece wooden stock. The M40A1 and A3 switched to fiberglass stocks made by McMillan, with new scopes.

The M40A5 designation superseded the M40A3 in 2009, though the evolution between the two systems occurred gradually over a longer period. The primary difference between the M40A5 and the M40A3 is the barrel: The A3's target crown has been replaced with a threaded muzzle and straight tapered barrel to allow the installation of a Surefire muzzle brake and sound suppressor. All M40A5s are fitted with a Badger Ordnance detachable magazine system and a forward rail mount for the AN/PVS-22 night vision optic.

"Main features"

  • Two stock models: OD (Olive Drab) stock, which enhances the camouflage effect or a fearless black stock.
  • MacMillan type stock: A stock made of resin to the shape and texture of the real thing. The cheekpiece at the rear of the stock can be adjusted up / down and left / right just the real thing. It also comes with 4 spacers that can change the thickness of the butt plate.
  • Reproduced the realistic and heavy appearance: By adopting metallic materials for the main parts other than the stock (such as outer barrel, muzzle brake, receiver, mount base, etc.).
  • Fast and speedy operation: Equipped with an indicator that shows the rifle is cocked or not and a bolt handle lock mechanism that prevents erroneous operation of the handle during cocking. Furthermore, by shortening the bolt stroke to 68 mm, it is possible to operate the bolt accurately and quickly.
  • BB loading system: When a magazine is not installed or when an empty magazine is installed, a safety mechanism that does not allow BBs to enter the chamber.
  • Trigger system: To make it easy to understand the shear release point (the point where the trigger releases and the rifle fires) the trigger weight and the stroke distance can be adjusted according to your preference.
  • Mount base: In addition to the mount base for the optical site, an accessory mount which is also a feature of M40A5 is standard equipment. Various optional parts corresponding to width 20 mm (Picatinny standard) can be installed.
  • Realistic pressed magazine: 35rd magazines are used which feature a pressed steel outer casing like the real thing..
