I have had this gun for a month or so now and i have given it a full day's skirmish and given it a strip down I am comfortable to do a proper review rather than one of those useless "I just unboxed it and it looks good" reviews that I see all to often.

Lets start with aesthetics, the externals are all top notch and solid, the majority of it being metal except the grip and stock. the Sig Sauer trades are all stamped into the receivers. I wish I could upload a picture of how I have kitted it out accessory wise. Speaking of accessories, I had some trouble installing my AFG on the bottom rail due to a rounded lug that holds the lower hand guard in place, however this is removable if you so desire without the hand guard becoming loose, the second thing i would recommend would be a decent RDS/scope, the reason for this is the iron sights are not the best. Lastly, I found that it can accept most aftermarket sling plates (mine is now fitted with an ASAP style sling plate) I mention this as the sling points out of the box are not fantastic

Next subject is how it shoots and feels. It has a nice smooth trigger pull and the ambi fire selector has a nice defined click when it is in place, the fire selector is only marked S and F due to it being a replica of a civilian firearm but i can assure you it has good rate of fire in full auto on a 7.4V lipo. It is quite a heavy gun weighing in at 3.5 KG (not including accessories) and is well balanced with the center of gravity being around the mag-well (side note it is so well balanced that it can free stand on the stock) The mechanical blowback (piston operated) gives the gun a nice loud and distinctive clacking noise. the hop is a bit of a pain to adjust due to where it is seated and the fact that the mock bolt does not lock back. however, I was managing an effective range of 40m using biosphere .25s and standard internals which is more than enough for my style of play.

Internals are mixed. the plastics that King Arms use in their gearboxes are not the best noteably the tappet plate and trigger unit, It does the job, but its not the best. The gears are average out of the box quality, as is the piston assembly. motor is of decent quality too everything is pretty much a standard V3 design. The last thing i will say about the internals is I wold ABSOLUTELY recommend one of the spring downgrade options especially if you are uncomfortable with internal work. First thing I usually do is chrono, out of the box this gun came in at 380fps +/- 5fps

The last thing is mag compatibility. The gun comes with one mid-cap however the lovely folks at Airsoft world threw in a free hi-cap, the free mag was a standard M4 hi-cap it was a tight fit but it fed well. I have tried various other mags the ones i have found to have the best fit and feed are the KA mag from the box (Duh), troy battle mags, lancer L5 AWM(?), magpul/PTS Pmags and Emags (both the hi-cap and mid-cap versions of each) as for the cheaper Chinese clone mags its 50/50 if they fit and/or feed

In summary, this is a good mid range gun out of the box I would say on par with a G&G toptech in terms of aesthetic quality but not quite performance, over all a decent mid range starter/ back up and if you are that way inclined, it would be a good base for a high end build.
