ICS have made their own take on the popular H&K G36. At 320fps out of the box, short length and with a unique folding stock makes it perfect for CQB. It even looks pretty futuristic if we do say so ourselves.

ICS G33 in Black.

A sort of mutation of ICS branding and a G36c ideally suited for CQB.  This black version will rock out BB's at 320fps making it ideal for indoor and outdoor use.  It's also sort of futuristic, if you happen to like that kind of thing! :-)

The construction is ABS plastic, so it's as sturdy as it is durable.  It's got semi and full-auto functions giving it plenty of fire-power.  The stock is adjustable in length and in height due to a fancy cheek riser built into the stock.  It also folds off to the side for easy storage and for crawling in tight spaces.  Another great point is that it's compatible with Marui style M4/M16/STANAG magazines and fitted with ICS' own hop-up system.

All that and a high-capacity mag for a reasonable price of £215!

Solid gun, great price, fantastic service... what more can you ask for?

My gun only arrived yesterday, so I haven't had time to skirmish it yet. I can't see there being any problems, though! This gun is pure quality. I got it two-toned and it looks fantastic, shoots beautifuly and now the hop is bedded in (around 3 hi-caps worth of fun) it is very accurate indeed. It is heavy enough to be substantial but not too heavy. Just for the record, you do NOT get a battery, charger, etc with the gun. It is very fun to shoot and has an excellent ROF even on an 8.4 NiMh.

Now for the slightly longer one...

First off, the unboxing:
It came in a plastic UPS (or TNT- I can't remember) sealed bag (but otherwise no padding) which is ok (but maybe some bubble wrap wouldn't go amiss?). There was one little rip in the bof which had also punctured a small bit of the instruction manual (it was actually similar in size to a BB!!), but I am happy to put that down to the delivery company. This did not otherwise effect anything in the box. After ripping open the plastic bag like a very young child with wrapping paper, I was presented with an ICS box. The box was pretty normal: ICS branded, pictures of that model of gun, and some stats about the gun. When I opened the box up, there was a note from Jai (big thanks specifically to him for helping me choose the gun in the shop and shipping it out himslef), and not one but TWO (!!!!!!) Airsoft World morale patches which are both now on my vest. Also in the box there was the gun (thank god for that), an ICS promo CD, a manual, and a cleaning/unjamming rod.

The Gun:
I had to have my gun TwoToned. (One of the best spent 10'ers in my life so far). The parts that are two toned are the handguard (with the RIS rails on the side unpainted) and the mag well. It has been beautifuly painted- very smooth.
The gun itself is about 3+1/2 kg without the mag inserted and is all-polymer body with metal parts being the trigger, body pins+ screws, the plate that covers the hop unit (sorry, i don't know the name!!), the front and rear iron sights, fire selector, and both mag releases... yes, there are two mag releases on the gun: one is a traditional G36 type and the other is in the same place as on M4 guns. Both are fully funtional. All internals are metal. The gun has a very accurate adjustable hop unit and Version 3 gearbox. It has a very light trigger pull, and the fire selector is solid and makes a great 'click' without being too stiff for changing it quickly in CQB... speaking of which, this gun would be great for. With an adjustable/foldable stock then you can use this gun in tight spaces and crawl around without getting seen. This gun is compatible with M4 mags so I didn't need to change my loadout which was good. I haven't chrono'd the gun yet but my feeling is it is somewhere in the 280-300 mark with .25's which makes it just site legal in the UK. My hop is set about 1/3rd on to lift my .25 beebs. As fas as ROF goes, this gun is outstanding. I use just an 8.4v Ni-Mh and the rate of fire would be parallel with an M60/M429 SAW on the same battery from my point of view. The stock is 4 position and has a 3 position cheeck riser. I'm about 6ft tall and a big guy and I have the stock half extended so guys a lot taller than me could easily use this gun. I've not been able to test the accuracy at distance fully yet, but I think the 60+ mtr estimate is about right as I can hit the centre of an A4 sheet of paper at about 48 meters in my garden... we'd need to see what Jai and his big heavy vice would have to say about that though...!!!

Service was outstanding as usual from Airsoft World, with my gun being two toned before the expected tracking date, and then the gun arriving WITHIN 24 hours of it being despatched from the warehouse (well, 22 hours and 36 minutes) which is out-of-this-world-level-good. Even when picking my gun in the shop I was given nearly two hours of help from Jai- which has been hugely appreciated as I didn't even know what I fancied getting before that!! Huge thanks for that and the service from all at AW.

I am really really looking forward to skirmishing with this weapon in a couple of weeks time (1/12/13) with you guys at The Fort- see you then!

Sorry about the essay, hopefully its been of help.
