Description
Based on the S&W Model 327 these are serious heavyweights! Full metal and powered by a single 12g CO2 bulb housed in the grip they are probably a little warm for use as a skirmish weapon, FPS is at around 400FPS. As a practical pistol or for target shooting these are fabulous! Each shell holds one 6mm BB for true six-shooter action and the gun comes with a speedloader and an optional picatinny rail to allow you to mount an optic should you wish! OMG! Full metal, stainless finish, cartridge loaded 6mm airsoft revolver.

This is the third ASG Dan Wesson revolver I have bough and they never disappoint. I also have the 2.5" version of this revolver, and the 6" 715 and I love all 3. They are among the most accurate airsoft guns you will find not just in the way they look and feel but also in how they are operated. They are just like the real thing!! This 4" is in the "Chrome Stainless" finish which is very nice, but I think is not as nice as the "Black" finish and no where near as classy as the "Steel Grey" on my 715.
These are very powerful out of the box, which gives them superb range for a pistol, but they may be a bit hot for some skirmish sights. This can be remedied very easily with a set of power down shells which will drop the power to a more friendly level.
The build on these is very very solid, and all parts are nicely finished leading to a very nice gun to look at and handle.
If you have not tried one of these, then I suggest you do. They may be a little impractical for some uses but they are just so much fun to shoot with.
Makes me smile every time I pull the trigger on one of these!!

Best revolver I own

I was surprised by the weight when I received this as other reviews had said it was heavy but its not as heavy in the hand as other full metal pistols I own. I like the clean lines so will not be using the rail system which was provided. It feels good to draw from a hip or vest holster and you can easily attain a good fire position down the fixed sights. The FPS compensates for the lack of hop up. My only criticism of what is a very good gun is the wobble in the hammer and the lack of bite in the hammer action unless you release the trigger fully after each shot. Still that's not going to stop me getting the stubby 2" model

I have owned a one of these revolvers for about 6 months now and guys, its fantastic!

ok first off, looks and feel,

in the hand this gun has the right weight and heft, the metal is excellent with the finish on the stainless steel version being near on perfect and by far better than what you might find on say a tanaka. The metal is of extremely high quality and no matter how hard I abuse mine it never seems to scratch or mark.
The only aesthetic blunder is the dreadful pistol grip that is made of a vile reddish colour plastic, (eeeuurrrgh) but that said it is a necessary evil as the grip has to open to admit the co2 caplet, if you can go for the rubberised grips, they are far sexier.

overall looks wise, 8/10 superb, marred only by the rather nasty grips.

Operation,
This gun is a shell ejector, in that the bbs are loaded individually into plastic shells and these are then loaded into the gun via a swing out cylinder, just like you would do on a real revolver. Closing the chamber has to be done in single solid motion, otherwise you get trapped on a spring loaded barrel seal. This seal makes it impossible to snap the cylinder in like you see on the movies, but hey,, deal with it.
Fully loaded the weapon holds just 6 rounds, but is easy to reload quickly either via spare rounds held in a speed loader or you can actually reload it via the chambers face, (not realistic, but a good option. if you want to top up rather then fully reload.)

The pistol is a double action meaning it can be fired off of a trigger pull or cocked and then fired from a much lighter pull, making for more accurate shooting. With the hammer cocked it has a very light and smooth trigger, while un cocked the trigger pull is a tiny bit creepy, but not too bad.
The weapon has a safety catch incorporated into the cylinder release button, pull it back and it locks the action, a rare thing so see on any revolver.

Gas is loaded via the grip, the grip is made of two parts, an outer cover and an inner receiver. to load a gas caplet you pull the outer grip back smartly, its held on a lug and wont fall off. you then insert the caplet into the grip and screw it in tight, this is smooth and seldom lets out any gas. overall it takes about 30 seconds to change caplets, but with each one you get around 100 shots, pretty good value for money there.

Operation score (9/10) little fiddly getting the cylinder closed sometimes but otherwise flawless and simple.

Performance.
Ok I have owned three airsoft revolvers over the years, two marui's and a tanaka, This gun took a long and effortless wee over them all.

Ok first issue, Power. This gun stock is very powerful, too powerful in fact, mine out of the box was shooting 450 fps. I know velocity reducer ammo is available, but I opted for a long term solution, I simply cut the main spring down by about three rings and then stretched it to fit. mine now shoots 340-355 fps, simples. (more on how to do this later)

With mine tuned down and shooting a steady 340-50 fps I took it on my range and put it through its paces.

Accuracy.. Surprisingly very good for a gun with no hop up. at fifty feet I could hit a dinner plate with ease, at about 100 feet its still possible to hit a man sized target with about half your shots. for a gbb pistol this is good, for an airsoft revolver its bloody good.
Accuracy is always improved by cocking the gun first, the lighter trigger pull reducing the amount of movement at the moment of firing. the long and the short of it is, if they are inside 100 feet, yo will hit them.

Reliability.
Simply perfect, it never mis-fires, never has a dodgy shot its and nothing falls off of it!

Performance, impressive, 10/10 would be a legendary pistol if it had a hop unit.

Value for money.
guys these are selling for peanuts. quality performance and strength on these guns should command a £200 price tag. it is a cheap gun to use with its low gas consumption and you wont ever be left wanting.
VFM I rate as 10/10

Hope you like my review.

I have used the 2, 4, 6 and 8" models both grey and silver. The are the most reliable handguns for aisoft I have ever used over 11years of experience. I love the realistic look and reloading features. I find it a must have for any airsoft operator.
