Sometimes it all in the name, and MPL describes exactly what this is.

Made of tough polycarbonate and powered by 3 AA cells, this 3 watt LED light will  deal with just about any lighting situation.

We have to stress that this isn't a 'tactical torch' despite the ability to mount it onto just about any cylindrical object.  Rather it's the light you keep in your webbing or kit bag for when you need serious working light!

A quick round up of it's features should explain why...

Airtight Waterproof to 25m

Brilliant LED beam in flashlight mode which can be focused by turning the lens unit

Spatial beam in area mode (that's a lamp to you and us)  Ideal in tents, around campfires, under the bonnet of your car!

Strobe function for alarm or emergency situations

Removable magnetic base - stick it onto any iron or steel surface!  Ideal for late night breakdowns, as a spare in-car light etc.  The magnetic base can be unscrewed and slipped onto the belt clip allowing even greater flexibility of fixing!

As if that wasn't enough, the MPL comes with a fixing kit that can be attached to handle bars, barrels (if you really want to!) or any other cylinder.  Only the mount needs to be attached as the light simply clicks in and out.

In addition there is waterproof storage inside the light (ok, you'll get some matches in there and maybe a tightly rolled ten pound note) but it's there, and under the tail-cap is a further storage area that holds two filters - red and yellow. 

Phew!

It's clunky and chunky and we have as yet found a job it cannot do.  Simply brilliant!

Continuous burn time is rated at 60 hours, in strobe mode, 80 hours.

We decided to reverse the flap so it wouldn't block the magazines when opened and replaced velcro with shockcord. The outcome you know. :) However, this flap has also some flaws, resulting directly from construction - e.g. mags are not protected from the rain. If you plan a long patrol in rainforest - you can take a full flap. If you'll be operating in urban environment - our standard one, or no flap at all.
