Top notch Pistol
Review by MikePrice Value Quality I have had this pistol a few weeks now and skirmished with it a couple of times and I must say it is an excellent bit of kit!
Ordering and Customer service
I had a bit of a drama with confirming my player number but this was not AW's fault (If you are registered with Combat South you will need them to email AW confirming your player number). Once the order had been shipped it was with me the next day so no complaints.
Packaging
Comes in a plain cardboard box like most WE guns. Inside the box the gun is held firmly in place by polystyrene so no drama's on that front.
Aesthetics
If you are like me and value the 'coolsoft' attributes of a gun you will not be disappointed! A very weighty pistol, certainly more so than my KJW glock and given it's full metal construction this is hardly surprising. The markings on the frame, although not accurate to the real gun are a nice touch and are engraved rather than painted on. (although not visible in the picture the reverse of the the frame features the Marine 'Eagle Globe and Anchor' emblem "U.S Marine M.E.U SOC" as well as the obligitary WE made in Taiwan jazz). The coin inserts on the semi-soft wrap around grips is also a nice touch.
Utility
The gun features forward and rear cocking serrations that aid in cocking the weapon (obviously). The addition of the rail on the bottom frame is also a nice touch.
Cons- "remember your weapon system was made by the lowest bidder"
- It's winter, it's cold and it's a metal pistol what do you think the performance is like?
- The spring guide sits against the hop unit and cannot be secured, although this isn't a problem whilst using the pistol it can be problematic when reassembling the weapon as it doesn't want to stay in place.
-The paint finish on the slide safety, hammer, magazine release and rear of the grip is rubbish and mine has already began to chip severely, although if you like the 'battle worn' look then crack on.
- Some of the parts on the gun wobble more than J.lo's arse, specifically the trigger and right hand slide safety, and the rear sights
- The single stack magazines only hold 15 rounds, but hey spares aren't that pricey
Conclusion
All in all an excellent pistol and for £90 an absolute steal, despite the cons mentioned above. Get one and get it now!
